Bob Roll is a former professional cyclist and world-famous cycling commentator with decades of experience in the sport. His passion for cycling, coaching, and healthy living is at the heart of the Roll with Bob Roll experience, where riders get the chance to learn directly from one of the sport's most beloved and knowledgeable voices.
Bob Roll started cycling in his native Northern California in 1981. Four years later, he turned professional with 7-Eleven, the first American team to race the Tour de France. He finished the Tour three times and competed in both road and mountain biking. Over his career he rode for 7-Eleven, Motorola, and Greg LeMond's Z team, racing mountain bikes professionally through 1998.
After his racing career, Bob Roll became one of the most recognizable voices in professional cycling as a commentator and television analyst. He joined NBC Sports' cycling coverage as an analyst in 2012, working alongside legends such as Phil Liggett and covering major international races including the Tour de France and Paris-Roubaix. His firsthand racing experience and unmistakable personality have made him a distinctive presence in cycling broadcasting.
Today, Bob Roll brings his experience, knowledge, and passion for the sport to the Roll with Bob Roll event in Moab, where participants can ride alongside and learn directly from the former professional cyclist and world-famous commentator.
