A 4-DAY EVENT COVERING ALL THINGS CYCLING

This mountain biking and road cycling event features four days of riding, coaching and clinics for riders of intermediate-advanced ability and three evenings of seminars and presentations with the Pros, Doctors, Nutritionists and Industry Reps.

 

Professional rider and world famous commentator Bob Roll joins Aspen Sports Performance in beautiful Moab, Utah during the best time of the year to ride and relax! For four days and three nights, you’ll receive coaching from one of the greatest minds in cycling. Not to mention, you’ll be surrounded by the scenic beauty of Moab Canyonlands and the Colorado River.

 

This event is designed to help athletes and cyclists of the intermediate-advanced level (ages 10 and above) with lifestyle, health, nutrition, fitness and training guidance to prepare and plan for staying fit year round.

ROAD

Each day road rides will have at least two different distances. Correct body positioning, riding in a group and overall fitness will be discussed each day.

MOUNTAIN

Secrets of the trade, covering body positioning, injury prevention, terrain awareness, shifting, bike handling, efficiency.

NON-RIDER OPTIONS

We realize not everyone rides a bike. That’s why we designed outings for those that want an alternative way to enjoy the area.

SKILLS YOU WILL LEARN

November 7-10, 2024 – Moab, Utah

STRONG BEGINNERS + ALL LEVELS WILL LEARN:

  • Body positioning – most important on a bike!
  • Crashing and injury prevention – how not  to crash
  • Terrain awareness and visioning – looking ahead!
  • Braking (in corners and rocky, technical terrain)
  • Shifting + efficient use of a dropper post
  • Technical climbing
  • Overall bike handling

INTERMEDIATES WILL LEARN the above and following:

  • Trackstands (Including where and why you would use this maneuver on the trail)
  • Wheelies (pedal + front + riding a wheelie)
  • Bunny hops – when to use on trails
  • Nose picks (for tight switchback turns)
  • Downhill technical drops (big and small)
  • Pedal drops

STRONG INTERMEDIATES + EXPERTS WILL LEARN the above and following:

  • Jumps – step ups/downs, table tops, pre-jumping I will introduce step-ups, step-downs, hips, tables, doubles, and pre-jumping
  • Steep terrain drops
  • Pre-turns (used in difficult corners and switchbacks)
  • High speed off camber cornering
  • Styling corners and rock faces

    What is this event about?

    The Roll with Bob Roll event is a ‘healthy living & lifestyle’ event.

    Who can join?

    This event is for people of all ages & cycling abilities, beginner to expert with fun mountain, road and non-rider activities. However, please note that Moab does not have a plethora of beginner mountain biking trails- most are still rocky and somewhat technical. Beginner mountain bikers are to ensure that they are comfortable on singletrack, riding at least three hours (with breaks). If you are a beginner mountain biker, you are also more than welcome to join the beginner kids group, who will be riding on the green/blue trails for approximately two hours/day. Most other adult groups will be riding for three+ hours on the more technical trails. We have coaches for every ability with an emphasis on learning, fun, enjoyment, skill building and safety, and want to ensure that all participants get as much out of the camp as possible.

    Are there Women's specific events?

    Yes, for both road and mountain biking. We provide personalized coaching that will help build confidence, riding ability, skills, and confidence. Our rides are fun, and designed to include all levels of riders.

    What about kids?

    Kids are welcome too! We offer mountain biking for ages 9 and above with personalized coaching that will help build confidence, riding ability and skills. Learn more HERE.

    What about the seminars?

    We have three evenings with seminars held at our host hotel in the Canyonlands room. We will be using COVID guidelines and offering Zoom options to watch from your hotel room. Be prepared, seminars start on time. Check the itinerary for times, topics, and guest speakers.

    What about meals?

    Check the itinerary for suggested breakfast and evening dining. Meals are not included.

    Is there a pool?

    Yes, an indoor/outdoor heated pool and jacuzzi. Bring your swimsuit for rest and relaxation!

    What bike(s) should I bring?

    You can bring both road and mountain bikes. Ship bikes to the hotel using shipbikes.com or bikeflights.com. You can also rent bikes through our partner Chile Pepper Bike Shop which is directly across the street from our hotel.

    I don't ride. What else is there?

    We offer morning stretching and yoga, hiking in the beautiful and scenic Caonyonlands area, pool and jacuzzi relaxation at our host hotel The Aarchway Inn, as well as evening seminars and education with guest professional coaching staff, Bob Roll and Dr. Max Testa.

    Is massage available?

    Yes, sign up early as slots fill up quickly. Massage is an extra fee and the therapists are paid directly.
